- How it works
- A user completes verification and connects a card through Mastercard Agent Pay or Stripe. The agent requests a credential for a specific purchase. A separate Base wallet supports x402.
- At checkout
- The agent can use issued card details at checkout. Mastercard Agent Pay uses a separate approval flow; card purchases are funded by the connected card, not the x402 wallet.
- Security
- One-time cards have a fixed amount and expiry. AgentCard says card details are fetched from Stripe into the CLI and are not stored in its database; they can be exposed to the agent runtime.
